École C. C. Loughlin Elementary School

École C.C. Loughlin School in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador is a school with students from Kindergarten to Grade Six. Approximately 450 students attend the school with 35 teachers and 10 support staff.

C.C. Loughlin offers both an English program and a French Immersion program. Our French Immersion students reside in many areas of our community while our English students reside on the west side of Corner Brook. The school is named after Mr. Clayton Loughlin (1909‑1993) to recognize and honor his contribution to education in Corner Brook.

C.C. Loughlin is a Big Buddy, Little Buddy School. Children from higher grades are matched with children from lower grades to help each other learn in many different ways. This program provides students an opportunity to succeed academically while at the same time having fun.  

Early French Immersion Program

• French Immersion is a program designed for non-francophone children. Parents/guardians interested in registering a child for the French Immersion Kindergarten Program must select their zoned school. If Early French Immersion is not offered in the zoned school, parents/guardians must select the school closest to their place of residence that offers Early French Immersion (EFI).

• Early French Immersion Kindergarten registration takes place on a on a first-come first served basis for a limited number of seats. Applications will be dated and time-stamped upon submission of the online application form. All students are entitled to a program in English so if your child is waitlisted for EFI at a school that is not your zoned school, space will be held at the zoned school. Parents/guardians will be provided with further information once class lists for EFI are finalized in September.
